Kenny & Gemma Payne
Pre-Paid Legal Executive Directors & Area Coordinators

Kenny and I met around age 11; we were both raised in the North Carolina and North Georgia Smoky Mountains. I was taking a Martial Arts Class instructed by Kenny's' brother. Looking back, at that young age, Martial Arts teaches us virtues that will always carry us through our "Journey in Life”; Patience, Determination, Practice and Persistence.

Graduating High School, We were both college bound. Each of us to gather knowledge for our future career. Kenny in Aviation and for me so many avenues I could take but couldn’t make a decision. I was doing 24-hour Home Health Care for a "bed-ridden" stroke victim, working at a domestic violence shelter for women and completing a degree in Administration.

Kenny joined the National Guard to acquire his dream of becoming a pilot. After completing his Basic Training, he came home on a short leave. We visited one another, shared stories and I guess, on that day I "changed my stars". I realized that the military could also enhance my life. Kenny was stationed at Ft. Eustis, Virginia and I at Ft. Lee, Virginia. We constantly wrote and took weekend passes together. Ever since, it has been one adventure after another.

After graduating from training, we were both stationed at Company E-130th aviation/helicopter unit in Salisbury, NC.  I accepted a full time position with military records, while Kenny worked in construction. Unfortunately, Kenny's dream of becoming a pilot suddenly became shattered by the inappropriate and unjust actions of a state trooper. Kenny's orders to attend flight school were revoked.

Joining a military police unit was Kenny's next quest. His heart's strength has always displayed generosity, honesty, sincerity, fairness and lawfulness; not corruptness of unjust acts. Kenny set out to prove that officers of the law can be just and moral to citizens.

A representative of Pre-Paid legal came to the unit one day, and gave a brief presentation to all the guardsmen. The membership was being offered to the guardsmen as a benefit. Kenny knew at that moment that he would like to wrap this blanket of protection around himself and his loved ones.

Today we are both representatives of Pre-Paid legal services.

We look forward to getting to know you. We're glad you took the time to review our site. Let us know how you feel and sign our guest book.

When I heard the salesman at the NC National Guard Armory, I was very skeptical. How could Pre-Paid Legal offer so many services for that low cost? How could the attorneys give quality service for that low fee? Well after research, I found Pre-Paid Legal had put together a system that could not be beat. The members get way more than their moneys worth! The provider attorney firms had substantial and stable incomes. Pre-Paid Legal was making a good income and keeping the attorneys in check. The sales people were getting paid for their production. It was a truly win, win, win, win situation. The checks and balances kept everyone in line. It was an awesome system.

I then started looking into becoming a salesman. I didn't really have sales skills; but anyone could see there was a HUGE demand for these services. Pre-Paid Legal had been around since 1972 - but I had never heard of it. When I began researching the Pre-Paid Legal plan, I had talked to friends, family and attorneysand none of them had even heard of it - but they were interested. Then I discovered that less than 2% of the population even had the plan. It was amazing!

My experience with the legal system really allowed me to see the greatness of the Pre-Paid Legal plan. On October 30, 1996 (the night before Halloween) I was stopped by a NC State Trooper on the east side of Black Mountain, NC. I was a Warrant Officer Candidate in the NC Army National Guard and had my orders for Rotary Wing Flight School (which I had been chosen as the number one pick for 3 straight flight boards). But a NC State Trooper wanted to have some fun or something; and decided to beat and choke me with a flashlight while I had my seatbelt on and my license and registration in my hands. The Troopers tried to find anything they could on me; but I was a clean cut kid that spent his life making good grades, working hard and preparing for flight school, so they found nothing.

Long story short. I lost my flight school, career and all money, savings, everything to do the right thing and keep this from happening to others. You know, if he would do that to me, a respectful clean-cut country boy - then he would do it to anyone. But he is still on the road. Justice? Innocent until proven guilty? If you've ever been in a situation like me you'll know that it doesn't exist. I thought only bad people got in trouble. Not so. Everyone is subject to something or someone. The Pre-Paid Legal Plan is the only significant factor in keeping the justice system somewhat straight. Hopefully when that Trooper sees a Pre-Paid Legal sticker in the window of Your car; he will think twice about being so inhumane.

It is a NECESSITY to tell everyone you know about this plan.
